Albaneta hills trail loop, walking tour
This first part of the excursion is quite easy on a mixed path of concrete, dirt track and path. Only the beginning of the walk is slightly uphill but very pleasant in the thick vegetation. After visit the Polish Cemetery (A), the first interesting place that you meet, it is the ruins of the Monastery of Santa Maria dell'Albaneta (B), continuing to the Bialecki Tank (C) you don't meet particular efforts, coming back a few meters, on the left you can see the single-track (marked by a white-red flag on a stone) that leads to the Obelisk (E) passing through the Doctor's House (D). This second part of the walking is about 25% steep, in winter time could bee slippery by short part of mud. From Hill 593, looking down at the bottom, you have a stunning view of the Albaneta Farm and, in addition to admire the entire Liri Valley, looking towards the Aurunci Mountains, you can see the Tirrenian sea if the day is clear. Going back and continuing downhill, you cross the initial path, to close the loop, and retourn to the Polish Soldiers' Cemetery parking where you can visit the Museum of the 2nd Polish Corps of General Anders (A), if not have already done before leaving for this loop walking tour.
